Buying a pre-loved designer bag in Miami is easy. Buying one you can prove is real — and getting your money back if it isn't — is a different story. This guide covers what authentication actually means, the red flags worth walking away from, and how we source every piece at shop til we drop.
What "authenticated" should mean
The word gets used loosely. A seller saying "it's authentic" is an opinion; a certificate you can look up yourself is evidence. We use Entrupy, which photographs the piece under a microscope-level camera and compares stitching, hardware engraving, date codes and material grain against its database. Every certified piece in our store carries a code you can verify independently at cert.entrupy.com — no account, no need to trust us.
If a listing says "authenticated" but gives you nothing to check, you're being asked to take it on faith. That's the single most useful question you can ask any seller, in Miami or anywhere else.
Five red flags before you pay
- The price is dramatically below market. A current-season Alma BB or Saffiano tote at a third of resale value isn't a deal — it's a warning. Pre-loved pricing is fairly consistent; outliers are usually the story.
- No date code, serial or RFID tag. Every luxury house uses at least one, and the format changes by year. A missing code is not proof of a fake, but it must be explained.
- Photos that hide the details. You need close-ups of stitching, hardware, zipper pulls, the interior label and the base. Sellers who only post flattering angles are hiding the parts authenticators look at.
- No return window in writing. Legitimate resellers publish their return policy. Ours is on the returns page — before you buy, not after.
- Pressure to pay off-platform. Zelle, gift cards or "friends and family" transfers remove every protection you have. Card payments and platform checkouts exist for a reason.
How we source
Our luxury pieces come from a trusted, pre-authenticated wholesaler with decades of experience, and each one is then checked and certified before it reaches the store. Condition is described honestly in the product page — including the small things: corner wear, glaze, hardware micro-scratches. A pre-loved bag is supposed to have a history; the point is knowing exactly what that history is.
Pieces we consider exceptional — rare colourways, discontinued models, collector condition — go into the Founder Vault, which opens in windows rather than staying permanently available.
What's available right now
Three examples of what "authenticated pre-loved" looks like in practice:
- Prada Monochrome Saffiano Tote — structured calfskin, full set, Entrupy certified.
- Louis Vuitton Duomo, Damier Ebene — the slouchy backpack silhouette, coated canvas that survives Miami humidity.
- Saint Laurent SL 316 Betty sunglasses — an accessory where fakes are rampant and the certificate matters most.
The full catalogue, with condition and measurements on each page, is in the luxury handbags & accessories collection.
Shipping from Miami, across the US
Everything ships from Miami to anywhere in the United States, with free shipping above the threshold shown at checkout. Pieces are packed to survive transit — dust bag, structured protection, tracking on every order — and you can follow your order at any time from the tracking page.
Buying from outside Florida? Nothing changes except the delivery window. The certificate, condition report and return policy travel with the piece.
Looking for something specific?
A lot of what we sell never reaches the catalogue: clients tell Kira what they're hunting for — a specific model, colour or year — and she sources it. If you know exactly what you want, the personal shopper request is faster than waiting for it to appear.
Quick answers
Are the bags really pre-owned? Yes. Pre-loved means previously owned and verified, not new stock. That's exactly why it's priced the way it is.
Can I verify the certificate myself? Yes — the Entrupy code on each certified piece resolves to a public page at cert.entrupy.com.
What if it doesn't fit my expectations? Read the returns policy before ordering; it's the same document we hold ourselves to.
